PRODUCT SUMMARY
The streamlined, angular and masculine designs in which Iain Henderson strives to achieve within his exclusive IHD men's jewellery collection are truly stunning. After completing his Silversmith degree Henderson identified the need for quality, technical and timeless men's jewellery. Items such as the 'Plane' men's cufflinks shows his awareness and appreciation towards designer men's jewellery.
The 'Plane' men's cufflinks have been completed in solid 925 silver. The head of the men's links measures 2cm long, 1cm wide and 2mm deep. The rectangular face of the head has a bridged curve. The underside of the silver has been tapered in for a subtle design and technical feature.
There have been 5, evenly spaced, 1mm deep lines cut into the silver across the width of the cufflinks. The 5 lines have been oxidised; meaning that the indentations have been marked in black after this process is applied to the silver. The parallel sides and angles of the head of the cufflinks are enhanced by these finely measured lines, offering a streamlined and contemporary design style.
The cufflinks thread through a cuff of a shirt using a toggle bar. This feature has also been designed in silver. The bar of the toggle pivots into a vertical position in to allow the wearer ease of use then pivot back into a horizontal position to fasten the links securely.
The exterior of the head has been left with a matte finish due to the brushed effect used over the surface of the silver. This technique, along with the oxidised lines and crisp designs conveys Iain Henderson's approach towards his men's jewellery design, reflecting the technical ability used within the IHD range and the balance between contemporary and the timeless nature of the designs.
